This vintage resulted in a moderate to high yield (9 tonne / Ha) of Cabernet Sauvignon from our vineyard this year. The fruit is 100% from our own vineyard. The wine has been matured for 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels (Taransuad Centre of France). Colour is very deep red of high intensity.

The nose is dusty cedar with black pepper. A full flavoured Cabernet with typically long pallet with lots of black forest fruit such as cassis and strong tones of nectarine and hints of chocolate. The tannins are pronounced but smooth and contribute to good mouth feel. The aftertaste is long and warm. The oak flavours are seamlessly integrated into the fruit flavours of the wine. The complexity of the nose and the smoky aromas are enhanced in the glass upon standing for a while.

Deep coloured with a complex nose of cedar, spice and meaty blackcurrant jam. The palate is medium bodied, with full yet ripe tannins and a lightness of touch that is the hallmark of Margaret River Cabernet.

Merlot (2003)

Heavy bunch thinning resulted in very low yield (3 tonne / Ha) of Merlot from our vineyard this year. The fruit is 100% from our own vineyard. The wine has been matured for 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels (Taransuad Centre of France).

Colour is a deep glowing red of medium intensity with excellent clarity. The nose is dusty cedar with hints of capcicum. A subtle but flavoursome Merlot with an abundance of plum but with plenty of peach and nectarine. The pallet is full and wide with soft silky tannins and a long jammy aftertaste that accentuates the nectarine flavours. Good mouth feel with plenty of glycerine. The oak flavours are perfectly integrated into this wine with no trace of bitterness. The complexity of the nose and the smoky aromas are enhanced in the glass upon standing for a while.

Produced from Gin Gin clone of Chardonnay with rootstock sourced from the legendary Block 20 of Leeuwin Estate, this wine s produced from very low yielding vines (3 tonne / Ha) with the fruit being hand picked. The fruit is 100% from our own vineyard. The fruit was whole bunch pressed at low pressure to avoid extraction of the bitter elements of the grape. The wine was barrel fermented in 100% new French oak barrels (Taransaud Chardonnay Selection) and was aged in these barrels for 12 months with malolactic fermentation.

Colour is pale straw with hints of green. Finely structured with an abundance of fruit flavour. Peach and melon undertones with a crisp citrus finish. Aroma has nutty vanilla hints and deep complex, yet subtle oak tones. Has a crisp clean finish with long, wide aftertaste on the pallet. No trace of bitterness with gentle buttery taste that will further develop with age. The oak tones are perfectly integrated with the fruit flavours producing a well balanced wine.

Rich lemon coloured, this full bodied wine is deceptively elegant. Packed with flavours of lemon curd, nectarine and oak spice, this intense, rich wine finishes with great length and freshness.
